Size: 100x70cm. Watercolour and Acrylic Artwork. Framed in Glass.
This Indigenous piece was designed for my high school teacher, Mr Darren Hughes and his family.
It was a privilege to design this piece which embraces the ocean and its never ending cycle, where the waves represent us. As we live in this world, I believe that every moment and every person we meet is for a reason. The ocean reminds us that regardless of where we end up in life, we all move together and we will all meet in the afterlife. The goanna’s are a totem of my Wiradjuri tribe as we are the ‘People of three rivers’ and our identities run through us and make us stronger as we share our stories through art.
I am very humbled to design this piece for such an influential teacher who has made me more determined and motivated to continue to share my passions and talents with the world.
This piece took 39 hours to complete. I am so humbled to have this family take an original artwork home to share its story.
